Mathletics supports Ernulf Academy with its transition program for new children

Why Ernulf Academy chose Mathletics

We originally set up Mathletics in our school 7 years ago after visiting the 3P Learning stand at the BETT show. We decided to use Mathletics as part of the transition program for children joining our school that were below the national average in maths. The pupils here love it as it is user friendly and they can use it at home which is an added bonus.

Mathletics is a great resource that gives a simplistic way of engaging students and makes them want to go on it all the time. It never ceases to amaze me how excited they get about Mathletics; it never seems to get old!

Mathletics has definitely improved our students’ recall skills. Mathletics helps to reinforce what children are learning in class as they can access the resource at home. Students use the help videos to listen to explanations of concepts and learn in a different way.

About the school:Ernulf Academy is a mixed secondary school based in St Neots, Cambridge. The schools’ motto is to Aspire, Challenge, Excel and the school has high aspirations for all of its young people. The school challenges them to be the best they can be, and supports them to excel.

Andy Truett, a teacher at Ernulf Academy, tells us why the school purchased Mathletics for its pupils and the impact it’s having on students.

In our school Mathletics is predominantly in Key Stage 3 with the lower ability students. We incorporate Mathletics into our classroom sessions at least once a week and then depending on individual teachers it is used in a variety of other ways.

We often use the program as an end of the week treat for the students or as parts of tutorial sessions. We also use it on the iPads; we find it so much easier and the Mathletics App has been a positive inclusion into our classrooms. Mathletics is a great tool for us teachers.

Mathletics has definitely improved our students’ recall skills. It helps to reinforce what children are learning in class as they can access the resource at home.
